#1 on Google

If you type in Lucy Kay in google this websight is the first one to come up in the results. Part of my next door neighbor's job is to get that to happen for his company's websight. (I guess there is a science for getting your websight on the top of google and it is worth a lot of money to a company when it happens.) And to think I did it without even trying.

B-DAY PARTY

The plans are still in the works, but my first birthday will be celebrated on Sunday June 4th in the evening. It will be at my house. Everyone is invited! Keep checking here for more information in the coming weeks.

In other news: I'm cutting my first teeth which isn't very much fun. I also just went to my doctor visit at Children's with the down's specialist and the word she said that stuck out the most was "incredible."

Standing up

I pulled myself to a standing position all by myself today for the first time, actually I did it a couple of times already today. The only problem is trying to find a way to sit back down again, which is why I look a little scared in this picture. Posted by Picasa

And the winner was...

me cause I got this cool new book. Actually mom said the voting was really close in the Easter outfit contest, but since she found this sweater to go with the outfit she decided to go with the orange. Posted by Picasa

What should I wear on Easter

Mommy can't decide what I should wear for Easter, so she dressed me up in a bunch of outfits and took pictures of me so you could help her decide. (I didn't enjoy the whole process as you can tell by my lack of smiles and the hangers mom had to give me to keep me from crawling away.) Leave a comment under which picture you like best.

I'm growing up...

My daddy was out of the country for ten days touring Israel and when he came back home he said I changed so much. Here are some new things that I'm doing one week short of being ten months old:

-I army crawl everywhere and I even get up on my hands knees a lot, but I still haven't figured out how to move forward in that position.
-I turn the pages for mommy and daddy when they read me books. Sometimes this cuts daddy short in what he's reading me, but I just want to see what's on the next page.
-I clap my hands all the time.
-I can get myself into a sitting position with just the smallest amount of help.
-I'm finally holding a bottle all by myself. Mommy says I could have done it sooner, but since they would always do it for me I thought why bother?
-I'm able to crawl over pillows and legs. Now if I could just figure out how to get over those gates I would be free.
-Though I still look bald, I now have hair all over my head.
-And I've developed the cuttest laugh in the whole world, but mommy is the only one who can get it out of me so far.

I also wanted to say a quick shout out to all my friends at this church called Landing Place. Daddy and I still pray for you every morning when I have my first bottle.

Hi everybody!

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time, but it's hard to find time to post when you are busy scooting around everywhere. That's right I can pretty much get anywhere I want to on the floor, well untill mom or dad grab me that is. I role, army crawl, and bear crawl. I still haven't quit figured out how to get up on my hands and knees yet, but I'm working on it.

Oh really

I'm getting dedicated

My parents have finally set the date for me to get dedicated at church, February 12th at 11am. Dad says everybody's invited. Dad said him and mom dedicated me to God while I was still in the womb, but we still need to do this in the midst of our church community. He says, God is faithful and won't forget what they promised long ago. But him and mom are human and they may tend to forget promises they make and that's what our church community is for. They will remind mom and dad in the good, bad, and ordinary times of life of the promises they have made and to whom I truly belong, to my Father in Heaven. This will also remind our church community of the responsibilities they have in raising me as well.

Jamie Parry will be doing the dedication and Michaele will be preaching that day. Dad says he just wants to be a daddy on that day.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is my daddy's birthday. I just thought I would take a minute to let you all know what a wonderful dad I have.
1. He doesn't make me eat avacado- Even though Mommy says I should
2. He sometimes spoils me and holds me while I nap.
3. He reads me as many books as I want
4. He sings to me.
5. He prays for me.
6. I love the way he looks at me. It's as if I'm the only baby in the world.
7. He keeps me safe from Hank.
8. He loves my mommy.
9. He plays with me even when he is tired.
10. Just Because

If you read this maybe you could take a minute to tell my daddy something you love about him.

I'm seven months old!

This week I went and saw my physical, occupational, and speech therapists, as well as my early intervention specialist all at the same time. They put me on a mat, in the same position as this picture, and they all gathered around to watch me. I realized right away I like to be the center of all that attention (Mom's worried I'm gonna be just like dad). I just started smiling and started showing them all the new things that I could do.

They were particularly impressed with how I can sit by myself and play with toys at the same time for minutes at a time. They also liked how I can pull myself to a standing position (with just a little help) and stand while just leaning against something. They said I am doing everying a seven month old baby should be doing already and even a few things ahead of schedule. Daddy said this makes his eyes water.

I found out I really like cereal, but I hate avacado. I had squash yesterday for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I guess after avacado anything will taste good! Posted by Picasa

Great Great Grandma

Yesterday was a sad first. I went to the funneral of my great great grandma. Although I didn't get to know her very well I get to see the products of her and my great great grandpa's love though my family. Get this she had 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. What a woman!

Field Trip

As you can tell from the previous picture (it was posted here so my pawpaw could help diagnose the problem for dad) we had some plumbing problems at our house. We had up to 4 inches of water in our basement today and our whole house smells. So we are spending the night at nanaw and pawpaws house and every future night until daddy fixes the plumbing and gets rid of the awful smell in our house.

Sorry...

Sorry it has taken me so long to put up a post on my trip to Children's Hospital last week. It went really well! The doctor said I am doing really good and even said, "Wow!" after I did a few things she wasn't expecting me to be doing just yet. She did say it is time for me to start occupational therapy and speech therapy and to double my physical therapy. That means I'll be going to each twice a month when I've only been going to physical therapy once a month to this point. Mommy and daddy are a little overwhelmed by it all, but I'm excited to get to play with more new people!

I'm a half

I turned six months old yesterday and I'm learning to sit up by myself. I'm begining to not like these birthday things cause all I usually get is more shots. Since i'm six months old I get to go to the down syndrome clinic at Children's hospital for the first time this Thursday at 10:45 AM and every six months after that until I'm five. Mom and dad don't know what to expect from this appointment except that we will see a doctor who specialized in down syndrome. Say a prayer for us cause mom and dad are a bit nervous as always. Posted by Picasa

Good friends...

My good friend Steve stopped by this morning to visit. I always love when good friends come over. He told us that his family prays for me all the time and especially when we put prayer requests on this site. He said that they get so excited whenever I tell about how I'm doing something new. Mom and dad are so thankful that we have so many people out there supporting us in this way. So thank you Steve and family and everyone else out there who does the same. Posted by Picasa

On The Road

Well, my docotor's apt. went very well. They said that everything looks ok. I probably just had a virus. I'm on the road to recovery. Thanks for your prayers. The doctor also reasured my mom and dad that I'm eating just fine. It's ok if I'm not eating 32 oz a day. Since I'm growing just fine he said they could trust me to let them know when I'm hungry and when I'm done.

The runs...

I've had a bad case of the runs lately. Sunday morning in church it even got out of my diaper and dad had to hold me nearly naked, I had a diaper on, in a blanket while mom ran home to get me a new outfit. It wouldn't be so bad if it also didn't give me a diaper rash that doesn't always feel too good. The doctor said I should come in for a visit today to see if we can fix this problem. So I go into today at 3:20 and I would appreciate it if you would say a prayer for me and also for my parents, they get nervous every times something little like this happens.

Last night I went to the church where my mommy grew up. We had such a wonderful time. My pawpaw sure can sing. I was so proud to be his granddaughter. I just wanted to thank all the wonderful people who made me and my mom feel so loved. My mommy knows how blessed she is to have grown up in such a loving church. It was so good to meet all of you. I hope to vist again. You are always welcome to come and visit me.
